Submit Application

We use a single application to gather basic details about your gathering, including a brief video submission. You can preview the questions here. 

Get Peer Approvals

You’ll be asked to submit the phone numbers of six of your peers. We will send them a short text, asking them to verify the details of your application by responding with a simple “yes.” These endorsements from your peers are a community-driven safeguarding measure to promote accountability and ensure the legitimacy of all gatherings.

  • Before submitting your application, ensure you have obtained consent from your friends to use their phone numbers. Tell them the gathering's name and date, and let them know when you plan to submit the application so they can expect the text. You can provide them with the example text below so they will recognize it when they receive it.

    Example of the text they’ll receive:

    "Hi [Friend's Name], [Your Name] chose you to peer approve their application to receive funds for the gathering on [Event Date] named [Event Name]. Respond Yes if you approve and No if you do not."

After your application is peer approved, our volunteer team will review your application to ensure it meets our requirements and policies. You will receive text and email updates about your application and can check its status anytime in your portal. Expect a decision within two weeks of submission.

Individual Verification

Gatherday uses Plaid to confirm you are human prior to payouts. It requires you to submit basic information and perform a selfie check.

Receive Funds & Host your Gathering

Payments are made through Paypal or Venmo based on your choice in the application. If you don't have an account with either service, you'll receive an email guiding you to create one so you can access your funds.
